Fire damages commercial building in southwest Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS — Fire damaged the second story of a business in the 4200 block of South Racket Drive on Monday, Dec. 26.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was called to the scene about 6 p.m. for a report of smoke coming from the roof of the building. Crews found and extinguished the fire on the second floor within 20 minutes of arriving.

Firefighters remained on the scene for several hours to guard against flare-ups.

There were no injuries reported.

The building did not have a sprinkler system. The fire is under investigation.
