HARRISBURG — Four juveniles were taken into custody early Wednesday after ramming into a police car, injuring one deputy.
Shortly before 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 200 block of South Cliff Avenue in Harrisburg to investigate a report of a suspicious person.
As deputies arrived, a suspect vehicle began to flee, ramming into one deputy’s vehicle.
Authorities pursued the vehicle to the intersection of 271st Street and Cliff Avenue, where the vehicle crashed and all four occupants began to run away. With the assistance of the Sioux Falls and Tea police departments as well as the South Dakota Highway Patrol, all four subjects were taken into custody.
In a statement, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said all four subjects were juveniles. One juvenile is on parole and was taken to a local juvenile facility.

One Lincoln County sheriff’s deputy suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Information regarding what charges each juvenile faces, if any, is not public information under South Dakota law. Sheriff Steve Swenson was not immediately available to provide comment.
