SIOUX FALLS — Authorities in Sioux Falls have closed a portion of Minnesota Avenue as a result of multiple crashes along a stretch near the airport.

The southbound lanes of North Minnesota Avenue are currently closed between Benson Avenue and West Algonquin Street as authorities respond to "several" crashes in the area. Traffic exiting southbound from the Sioux Falls Regional Airport is also affected.

The Sioux Falls Police Department announced the closure shortly after 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 17, adding that a ground blizzard is a factor in the crashes. No injuries have been reported.

Authorities say motorists must find another route until further notice.
