SIOUX FALLS — A string of burglaries struck construction trailers over the weekend causing thousands of dollars in loss, Sioux Falls police said.

In the morning hours of Monday, Jan. 16, police in Sioux Falls fielded multiple reports that construction trailers had been burglarized over the weekend. Police spokesman Sam Clemens said that three burglaries were all reported in a concentrated area near the 300 block of East Sixth Street, near the Sixth Street Bridge.

Various tools were taken in each of the burglaries, Clemens said, estimating the combined loss from all three reports at more than $3,300.

Surveillance cameras from nearby businesses in the area helped police narrow the timeframe of the burglaries down to approximately 11 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13.

No arrests have been made in connection with the burglaries.
