SIOUX FALLS — One man was injured Wednesday morning after a passenger suddenly began stabbing a driver in northeastern Sioux Falls, police said.

Though police spokesman Sam Clemens said it’s not clear where or when the stabbing happened, call logs provided by the Sioux Falls Police Department indicate police were called to the intersection of 33rd Street North and North Jessica Avenue shortly before 6 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25.

Clemens said the 42-year-old victim was driving a vehicle with multiple other occupants when a female passenger “all of a sudden started stabbing” the driver. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and self-transported to a hospital to seek medical attention.

The victim either didn’t know the woman who stabbed him or didn’t want to tell police, Clemens said, leaving police with limited information to work from. No other passengers were injured.

As of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, no arrests have been made in connection with the stabbing.
